This Privacy Policy explains how Focus Buddy ("the App", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our mobile application. By using Focus Buddy you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

Focus Buddy is designed to keep your data on your device wherever possible. We collect:

• Data you create in the app — focus sessions, tasks, statistics, pet and room customizations, and settings. This is stored locally on your device and, if you enable sync, in your account.
• Account information — if you sign in (e.g. with Google or Apple), we receive a user identifier and, depending on the provider, your email address, used only to sync your data and identify your account.
• Usage & diagnostic data — anonymous analytics and crash data (see "Third-Party Services") to help us improve the App.
• Purchase information — subscription and in-app purchase status, processed by Apple or Google. We never receive your full payment card details.

2. App Usage Access (App Blocking)

On platforms where this feature is available, the optional App Blocking feature requires the "Usage Access" and "Display over other apps" permissions to detect when a distracting app is opened during a focus session and show a reminder overlay. This processing happens entirely on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or store the list of apps you use.

3. Notifications

With your permission, the App sends local notifications (focus reminders, streak nudges). These are generated on your device and are not used for advertising.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following services, each governed by its own privacy policy:

• Google Firebase (Analytics, Remote Config) — anonymous usage analytics and feature configuration. Firebase Privacy
• Google AdMob — advertising, which may use an advertising identifier. Google Ads Policy
• Apple App Store / Google Play Billing — processing of purchases and subscriptions.
• Google / Apple Sign-In — optional authentication.

5. How We Use Information

• To provide and maintain the App's features.
• To sync your data across your devices (if enabled).
• To process subscriptions and in-app purchases.
• To display and measure advertising.
• To understand usage and improve the App.

6. Advertising Identifier

The App may use an advertising identifier to show relevant ads and measure their performance. On iOS you can control tracking via Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. On other platforms, use the advertising or ads controls in your device settings.

7. Data Retention & Deletion

Local data remains until you delete it or uninstall the App.

Deleting your account from inside the App. If you use an account, you can delete it and all of its synced data at any time, without contacting us: open Profile → Account → Delete Account and confirm. This permanently removes your account and the data stored against it — focus sessions, pet, wallet, streak, settings, room membership, friend code and friend requests — and clears the copy held on your device.

You may also request deletion by contacting us at the email below; we will action it within 30 days.

8. Children's Privacy

Focus Buddy is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your region (e.g. GDPR, CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. Contact us to exercise these rights.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. Changes are effective when posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
